Description

Become a dumpling master in this 4 hour hands-on masterclass.  Learn the secrets to making the translucent wrapper-the basis of many classic Chinese dumplings.  Crystal Prawn dumpling,  my signature Pan-seared Jade dumpling, the Lotus Leaf wrapped chicken, pork and rice parcel and more will be made by you, as you master a variety of pleating and folding techniques

Abundant personal instruction is yours as class size is limited to 8 people. Take home a folder full of recipes of what we make in class plus bonus recipes and fact sheets about shopping for ingredients, taking care of your steaming baskets, and where to go for dumplings in Melbourne. You will also receive the gift of a limited edition canvas bag embroidered with the Dumpling Mania logo that will come in handy when you're shopping for your dumpling making days ahead.

Focus completely on learning to make dumplings because my assistant cleans up after us.  The venue is the kitchen inside the Made in Japan ceramics store.  During the break, you will have a chance to browse in the store and redeem a gift voucher towards the purchase of a piece of beautiful ceramics to show off your dumplings.  

ABOUT FOOD ALLERGIES AND INGREDIENTS: Dumpling Mania is unable to accomodate food allergies. Ingredients in this Deluxe Masterclass include pork, prawn, chicken, soy products, mushrooms, onions, garlic, sesame, Shao xing rice wine, oyster sauce, chili, pepper, and other prepared Asian condiments and seasonings which may contain traces of nuts.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Refund Policy:  If you wish to receive a refund for a ticket or gift voucher, please email me via the CONTACT page on dumplingmania.com within 14 days prior to the date of the class . A refund will be payable less 20%.  Sorry, no refunds payable thereafter.   

Transfer Policy  Provided you notify me 10 days prior to the date of the class, you may apply the ticket cost towards the next session of the workshop/class.  You may email me via the CONTACT page on dumplingmania.com; if you do not show up for the class, there will be no transfer or refund.

27 February 2019 • Dumpling Mania Deluxe Masterclass

I had so much fun at Dumpling Mania, the class covered all of my favourite dumplings and the results were delicious. You get to eat your creations as you go like courses at a yum-cha restaurant. The environment is super relaxed sipping on tea and learning amongst instant friends; you don't have to be a cooking wonder either to enjoy the class! I would recommend this class to everyone oh and make sure to take lots of photos for Facebook and Instagram.

Not only did we make a great variety of delicious dumplings and related delights, but we had a fantastic and fun time. We learned to make the pastry and the sauces as well. I have tested out my learning at home already - and SUCCESS!

What a great day! Having previously had a great time at one of Lou's dumpling making classes, sent by my husband as a birthday surprise, I thought I'd return the favour, and this time hubs came along too! We made an excellent variety of dumplings, learning how to make the fillings, make wrappers, different wrapping techniques, as well as cooking techniques. We also made sticky rice - my favourite! We had a nice class size of about 10 people. We left with full bellies, enjoyed the delicious food and learnt lots of tips for preparing these dishes at home ourselves. Lou brings a wonderful warmth to her classes and her passion is contagious. If you like dumplings and cooking I highly recommend this class to you!
