This is the essential introduction to making dumplings at home. Perfect for busy people as these dumplings can be easily made at home and freeze well.  Just minutes to cook straight from the freezer,  Lou Wong will show you how to transform the humble wonton wrapper into three different shaped dumplings, with three different fillings that are then cooked by boiling or steaming or deep-frying. WONTONS filled with beef infused with Chinese 5 spice, served with a lashing of chili sauce, SIU MAI, a classic yum cha dumpling of pork and prawn that is open-topped and steamed; WONTON WINGS, a deep fried dumpling that is paired with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Enjoy the feast with a fresh Asian slaw tossed in ginger, lime and sesame dressing. No substitutions or changes can be made to the menu.

PARKING:  free all day car parking behind the Made in Japan store, enter via Park Street.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: just minutes from the CBD, trams # 1 (stop 24) or # 12 (stop 129)

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refund Policy:  If you wish to receive a refund for a ticket or gift voucher, please email me via the CONTACT page on dumplingmania.com within 14 days prior to the date of the class . A refund will be payable less 20%.  Sorry, no refunds payable thereafter.   

Transfer Policy  Provided you notify me 10 days prior to the date of the class, you may apply the ticket cost towards the next session of the workshop/class.  You may email me via the CONTACT page on dumplingmania.com; if you do not show up for the class, there will be no transfer or refund.

By booking and paying for a class with Lou Wong, it will be deemed that you have accepted these terms and conditions.   In the event you are unable to attend the class on the scheduled date, please refer to my refund policy.  In the event the class is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, a refund will be payable or the class ticket will be valid to redeem at another date within the following 12 months.

Had a fabulous time at our dumpling course on Sunday. Lou is a great teacher and the small group made it more personal and friendly. Having everyone involved in the preparation and making the dumplings made it easier for us to replicate at home. I think we all enjoyed the dumplings we made and were happy with our results. The gift voucher for Made In Japan was a nice extra. Thanks Lou!!!

We participated in a Wonton Mania dumpling class earlier this October and it was everything we hoped for. There were no set class but after corresponding with Lou, she was kind enough to organise a private class for the three of us who were visiting from Sydney. We learnt four different styles of dumplings with various presentation and left with recipes, new skills and a full stomach! The hospitality displayed by Lou and her assistants were second to none. This class would be suitable for beginners through to experienced cooks. I’d highly recommend it. The four hour class went by so quickly which just demonstrated how much fun we had! Thanks again Lou for a great day.

Great class!! Very easy to get involved and as a complete novice, I learn a lot very quickly! Friendly and enthusiastic teacher and absolutely delicious food! Already impressing my family with my new skills!
